Turning 85 :-)

I don't remember myself hanging out with the kids of my age when I was a sweet young thing.I mostly found comfort in being around the elder ones, matured and experienced old beings and when they acted more like kids while being with one , that's when the real fun began. I could see myself relating with them so much so that they were my only way to escapism from the bored routine life, accompanying and travelling great distances while listing out all the possible treats and sweets to be bought after reaching the landmark, getting swayed away in deep yet laughable conversations over a bowl of ice-cream.

The people you know as your parents become entirely different beings when left around with their grandkids, they free themselves from inhibitions, share their most treasured memories from school and college days, the crushes and the exchange of lovey-dovey moments ( love letters being the best part of it) and obviously about how much better life they had lived even when all of these gimmicks were far from the everyday life.

So what happens when they are gone and never to be seen again like the fading clouds? How do you get to feel the essence of that person you felt close to?
Do they actually keep an eye over you and watch out for you even not being physically present like people empathetically say? Is that even possible or is this theory just there to lessen our miseries and enlighten us with a bit of hope left in us?
We'll never get to be served with the real truth that lies within until the ultimate thing, that is, death itself happens to us.

Since, it is my grandfather's birthday today and he's not here to blow-off the candles with a sparkling excitement of that of a child, we are making the most of this day by remembering him through glancing over his happiest pictures clicked on his every birthday that he whole-heartedly celebrated, not to forget his indulgence over lip-smacking cakes and snacks that were all used to be elaborately done especially for him. He was a kid at heart who lived years without caring to even count them. Now that he's gone, there's this satisfaction that lies in my heart that he LIVED MORE and SUFFERED LESS. Your empty room doesn't fit well in this wide-spaced home without you in it and thence, we have hung your pictures with dadi on every wall we could to improvise and give it a homely vibe for us to sustain. You surely must be busy spreading smiles and travelling across the world with your most favorite companion. You undoubtedly, must be all dressed-up to dazzle and cut a few more cakes up there in heaven in a celebratory mood to mark the occasion of hitting 85.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BESTFRIEND. DAY SPENT BY YOUR SIDE WILL ALWAYS BE MY FOREVER CHERISHED POLAROID OF MEMORIES GIFTED BY YOU. WE LOVE YOU AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO IT TILL THE LAST BREATH OF OUR LIVES. YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION MATE. CHEERSπŸ₯‚
